VAPORESSO vape tanks deliver sub-ohm DTL performance and precision MTL in two platforms: GTi tanks for high-wattage box mods (ARMOUR ULTRA, GEN 200) and GTX Pod Tanks for pod mod systems (LUXE XR Max 2). Choosing the correct tank and coil platform is essential — GTi and GTX are not interchangeable.

GTi Tank Platform

GTi mesh coils power the iTank T and ARMOUR ULTRA kit. Designed for 30–90W DTL vaping with high-VG e-liquid. Top airflow, self-circulating system, and press-fit coil installation. Popular resistances: 0.15Ω (75–90W), 0.2Ω (60–75W), 0.4Ω (50–60W).

GTX Pod Tank Platform

GTX Pod Tanks attach to LUXE XR Max 2 and compatible pod mods. Smaller capacity but same GTX coil range as standalone GTX coils — ideal for RDL at 20–45W. Swap coils without draining the entire pod.

Coil Replacement Cycle

  • GTi DTL coils: replace every 1–2 weeks or 5–7 tank refills at 60W+
  • GTX MTL/RDL coils: replace every 1–2 weeks or 5–6 refills at 20–30W
  • Signs to replace: muted flavor, reduced vapor, burnt taste, gurgling

FAQs About Vape Tanks

Q1: Can I use GTi coils in a GTX Pod Tank?

No. GTi and GTX coils have different physical designs and fit different devices. GTi fits iTank T and ARMOUR ULTRA; GTX fits LUXE XR Max 2 and GTX Pod Tank. See our GTX vs GTi guide.

Q2: Which tank is best for dense DTL clouds?

iTank T with GTi 0.15Ω or 0.2Ω coils on ARMOUR ULTRA or GEN 200 at 60–90W. Use 70%+ VG e-liquid and wide airflow for maximum vapor production.

Q3: How do I prime a new GTi or GTX coil?

Install the coil, fill the tank completely, wait 5–10 minutes for cotton saturation, then start at the lowest recommended wattage. Gradually increase over the first session. Never dry-fire a new coil.

Q4: What e-liquid ratio should I use in GTi vs GTX tanks?

GTi DTL (0.15Ω–0.4Ω): 70/30 or max VG. GTX MTL (0.6Ω–1.2Ω): 50/50 or nic salts. Using high-VG in MTL coils causes poor wicking; using thin 50/50 in sub-ohm DTL may leak.

Q5: How often should I replace my vape tank?

Tanks themselves last years with proper cleaning. Replace coils every 1–2 weeks. Replace the tank glass or O-rings if cracked or leaking. Pod tanks (GTX) may be replaced if the pod body cracks — coils and pods are consumables, not the tank shell.
