Vape Coils

Replacement coils are the single most important consumable in your vaping setup — they determine flavor quality, vapor production, and how long each fill lasts. VAPORESSO engineers coils across two primary platforms — GTX and GTi — plus legacy lines (GTR, GT CORE, EUC) for older devices. GTX and GTi coils are NOT interchangeable. Using the wrong coil is the #1 cause of poor flavor and device returns.
GTX vs GTi: Quick Decision Guide
- Own a LUXE XR Max, GEN 80S, TARGET PM80, SWAG PX80? → Use GTX Coils
- Own an ARMOUR ULTRA, GEN 200, iTank T, LUXE X3? → Use GTi Coils

GTX Coils — For Pod Mods & Compact Devices
GTX mesh coils power the LUXE XR series, TARGET PM series, and SWAG PX80. Available resistances from 0.15Ω (DTL clouds) to 1.2Ω (MTL tight draw). GTX coils use COREX mesh heating for rapid, even vaporization and typically last 5–6 refills before flavor fades.
Popular resistances: 0.2Ω (60–75W DTL) · 0.3Ω (32–45W RDL) · 0.6Ω (20–30W MTL/RDL) · 0.8Ω (12–20W MTL)
GTi Coils — For High-Wattage Tank Mods
GTi coils are built for the DTL platform — ARMOUR ULTRA, GEN 200, and iTank T tanks. Larger airflow channels deliver dense clouds at higher wattages. GTi mesh coils range from 0.15Ω (75–90W) to 0.5Ω (30–40W).
Popular resistances: 0.15Ω (75–90W) · 0.2Ω (60–75W) · 0.4Ω (50–60W) · 0.5Ω (30–40W)
How to Maximize Coil Lifespan
- Prime new coils: fill tank/pod, wait 5–10 minutes before first puff
- Stay within the recommended wattage range printed on the coil
- Replace when flavor weakens, vapor drops, or you taste burning — typically every 1–2 weeks for daily users
- Use the correct e-liquid viscosity: high-VG (70%+) for sub-ohm DTL; 50/50 or nic salts for MTL

FAQs About Vape Coils
Q1: Are GTX and GTi coils interchangeable?
No. GTX and GTi use different physical designs and fit different devices. GTX fits LUXE XR Max and TARGET PM80; GTi fits ARMOUR ULTRA and iTank T. Using the wrong coil will not seat properly and may damage your device.
Q2: How long do VAPORESSO GTX or GTi coils last?
Most users get 5–6 tank refills or 1–2 weeks of daily use before flavor noticeably declines. Heavy DTL vapers at high wattage may replace coils weekly; light MTL users can stretch to 2–3 weeks.
Q3: Which GTX coil resistance should I choose for MTL vaping?
For a tight, cigarette-like draw, choose GTX 0.8Ω (12–20W) or 1.2Ω (8–12W). Pair with 50/50 e-liquid or nicotine salts (20–50mg). For a slightly airier MTL/RDL draw, GTX 0.6Ω at 20–30W works well with 3–6mg freebase.
Q4: Why does my new coil taste burnt immediately?
The coil was not primed. After installing, fill the tank/pod completely, wait 5–10 minutes for e-liquid to saturate the cotton, then start at the lowest recommended wattage and gradually increase. Never dry-fire a new coil.
Q5: Can I use GTi 0.15Ω coils for MTL?
No. GTi 0.15Ω is designed for 75–90W DTL vaping with high-VG e-liquid. For MTL, use GTX 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω coils in a compatible GTX device, or switch to an XROS pod system for true MTL performance.
